Rubbish

Malaysia recently have this advertisement which aims to educate people about law on the road. It has a common theme which is, children also know about the rules, what reason you have as an adult to not obey the rules. It show scenes such as children in the park playing but stop to look at 'oncoming traffic' at a pedestrian walkway or children sitting at the back of the car saying cutting queue in a traffic congestion is wrong. Worst still, I recently heard on the radio, a young boy pointing out that someone is doing above 80km/h on a road with a speed limit of 80km/h.

Well, one can argue that if children know the rules, what reason is there for adults not to obey the rules. But then again, does children have the same maturity as adults? Does children know how to think as rational as adults?

For example, if you drive on a 4 lanes straight road with a speed limit of 80km/h, would you stick to the speed limit? The road is so straight that it streched for almost 3km and the condition is dry. Do you think people will stick to that speed limit?? Don't you think other people will tend to speed above the speed limit even if you keep to it?? You will end up as a road hazard if you keep to the speed limit, don't you think?

Therefore, what I think is, even though using this theme to encourage people to obey laws, I don't think everything is possible. Children does not have the same rational as adults, neither they have the same maturity. I am against this theme, and I truly hate those advertisements! A disgrace to both children and adults. And here you (the government) are promoting visiting Malaysia year 2007. Excuse me? Clean up all the dirt in the country first before promoting our country to other people around the world!! There is even a report in the newspaper saying tourist does not really see what is so beautiful in our country and will think twice before coming back! Wake up, my dear government! Haiz... Signing off... *disappointed*

If Everyone Cared

From underneath the trees, we watch the sky
Confusing stars for satellites
I never dreamed that you'd be mine
But here we are, we're here tonight

Singing Amen, I... I'm alive
Singing Amen, I... I'm alive

If everyone cared and nobody cried
If everyone loved and nobody lied
If everyone shared and swallowed their pride
We'd see the day when nobody died
And I'm singing

Amen I, I'm alive
Amen I, I'm alive

And in the air the fireflies
Our only light in paradise
We'll show the world they were wrong
And teach them all to sing along

Singing Amen, I... I'm alive
Singing Amen, I... I'm alive

If everyone cared and nobody cried
If everyone loved and nobody lied
If everyone shared and swallowed their pride
We'd see the day when nobody died
If everyone cared and nobody cried
If everyone loved and nobody lied
If everyone shared and swallowed their pride
We'd see the day when nobody died

And as we lie beneath the stars
We realize how small we are
If they could love like you and me
Imagine what the world could be

If everyone cared and nobody cried
If everyone loved and nobody lied
If everyone shared and swallowed their pride
We'd see the day when nobody died

We'd see the day, we'd see the day
When nobody died
We'd see the day, we'd see the day
When nobody died
We'd see the day when nobody died

- That's the lyrics of the song 'If Everyone Cared' by Nickleback. I find the lyrics rather meaningful and the song rather nice. Enjoy!! =)

Cruelty

I was reading the newspapers today, and I came across a particular article with a picture of it. It broke my heart. I felt disgusted instantly and also felt so sorry for the poor thing. What I saw in the picture was this dog who is badly injured on the front leg. After reading what the article wrote, I found out what happened. The dog was tied up with a motorcycle brake chain. It was tied up so tightly to its leg till it cut the flesh and broke the bone. The picture showed the dog's wound. It's something like this:

Look at your hand. Imagine this. Slightly above your wrist, draw a line. About 3cm further up, draw another line. In between those lines, no flesh exists. Just a patch of dried blood and a broken bone.

Yes, that is the same situation the poor dog is suffering. To add salt to wound, the dog is now terrified when human come near it. It has suffered physically and also psychologically!

How could someone do such cruel act to an animal?! What is wrong with these people's mind?! Do you like it if I do that to you?! Even if someone give you a slap for no reason you won't like it right?! What's more than cutting up your flesh and breaking your bone? Don't you have any compassion?? Don't you have any love?? What the hell is wrong with people nowadays?! If I ever found out who did that to the poor little dog, and if the law allows me to punish him/her however I want, I would want to do the same thing on him/her, to ALL FOUR OF THOSE BLOODY USELESS LIMBS!! I agree I do sound cruel, but, does all these punishment still make sense after what that bloody id**t did to that poor little dog?? All these sufferings the dog has to go through and has yet to go through. It just does not bring back justice for the poor little dog. What sin has the dog done to deserve such cruelty?? I really feel so sorry for the dog and feel disgusted and angry that such action can actually take place. What on earth is wrong with that id**t's mind?!

As for now, all we can do is just pray and hope for the best for the poor little dog. And also hope that there will be NO more such cruelty and injustice! Signing off... *disgusted and sad*

I am thankful to have such wonderful parents, and such a great brother. What's more, I have a great big bunch of good friends whom have helped me a lot. Sadly, I'll be leaving all these people and head to the States coming August. I hope I won't lose contact with all wonderful friends, and also I hope I will find more wonderful friends over in the States. =p

As for now, I will stick to my sweet dream. I know I shouldn't because there is Business Law assignment waiting for me to do. But...... >.< Dream dream dream dream dream...

What the heck?!

I was listening to some songs the other day. The radio station was airing it. I personally like those songs. But what annoyed me is the censoring of those songs.

The word 'God' is being censored, but the word next to it, 'damn', was not censored. I mean, what in the world is wrong with the word 'God'?! And ain't the word 'damn' supposed to be vulgar?! When you put these two words together and come up with 'Goddamn', and you choose just to censore one half of it, shouldn't the part 'Damn' be censored instead of the word 'God'?? I am no Christian, neither Muslim. And I have no intention in offending any religion in this world. But this is just outrageous. With these censoring, does it mean that Christian countries censor the word 'Allah' if they appear in any sort of movies or songs or any media?? It doesn't make sense to me that the Malaysian Censoring Board is doing these kinds of racist censoring.

Another issue in censoring. This issue always appear in movies being aired in Malaysia, especially local tv station. Guess what? Kissing, fighting, the word pig (yes!! Believe it or not?!), and many other stuffs are being censored.

Come on, what in the world is wrong with kissing?? It's just showing affection, and both parties are willing to do it, not that they are being forced or anything.

Fighting. Yes, I agree that some scene may be to violent for young children, but age old fighting scenes such as those from Bruce Lee or Jackie Chan?? C'mon, you've gotta be kidding. What's the use of watching these shows when the main attraction is the fighting and it is being censored?

The most racist of all, based on my personal opinion, is the censoring of the word 'pig'. Imagine watching a chinese movie. A joke comes up, with the word 'zhu' (pig in mandarin) as the main joke being censored. How on earth will people get the joke?! Besides that, even the picture of a pig, even the piggy bank, is being replaced with some jumbled-squared-picture. Ain't that offending to other religion??

Yet the government wants to promote cultural diversity. What the heck?!

Another censoring issue, where most guys will definitely agree with me, is the censoring of low cut dresses. Excuse me?? Don't you know what is called fashion?? And don't you know how to appreciate nice body curves?? If sensitive parts are shown then of course I will agree to the censoring. But just showing a little cleavage must be censored?! That's going overboard, don't you think??

Well, there are many more issues regarding censoring in Malaysia which annoys me. It sometimes make me wonder how is it like in other countries such as the States or Europe or the Middle East. I have seen commercial ads in Australia, and kissing and beer are not censored at all. Well, censoring beer can be accepted. But censoring affection is definitely a no-no for me. I don't see anything wrong in it. Don't tell me you don't kiss your loved ones?? Yes, I must say that there are many other ways of showing love and affection, but ain't kissing the most affectionate?? As long as both parties are willing, I don't see anything wrong with it. Prove me wrong, can you??

Well, these rantings here definitely won't make any changes to the censoring in Malaysia I would say. Therefore I can only resort to original copies or uncensored copies of materials. I look forward to going to the States in August, at least these censoring won't bug me anymore, or so I hope. As for now, let's listen to some uncensored songs. Ciaoz!!

farewell...

I went to Halo Cafe at Sunway Pyramid for Victor, Ing Ling and bf's farewell. Yes, I know the name Halo reminds you of some video game, but this cafe has nothing to do with it. It's quite a nice place to chill out and relax. Everyone was playing with their camera, therefore my hand had an itch and I cured it by my phone. Lolz

First up, the food. Me and Victor ordered the same thing, Mongolian Fried Rice, except mine is pork and his is chicken. Can you see the difference?

Nope, I can't. Tell me if you do. =p

Next, the drinks. Halo Cafe has their own cocktail style drinks, just that it has non-alcoholic and alcoholic. As most of us are driving, non-alcoholic became our choice. This is Evans, mine and Victor's drink. (L to R)

Looks nice eh? Trust me, it doesn't taste as good as it looks. I think the alcoholic cocktails will taste better. Maybe I shall give it a try next time, if I ever go back to that cafe. =p

Next, some crazy snapping of my wonderful N70. Lolz.

This is Fah Heung and Jacyln. See? They also ordered these weird drinks. Haha...

Everyone is busy with something, in the dark. Don't know why my camera didn't flash this time, maybe some light was shining into the light sensor. Haha...

Ing Ling and her bf. Both of them are going to leave soon. =( sigh...

Fah Heung, Jacyln and Wai Nee.

Wai Nee. Busy with your cam huh?? Gotcha... =p

Who ask you to always avoid the camera?? That's the reason why everyone wanna take picture of you. Too bad. =p

Of course, the main man. Victor!! Lolz... Poser. How sad, he's leaving soon. Don't worry, you will get your shoes in time. Hehehe... Take care dude, all the best to you in your studies. Let's count the probability of us meeting again, shall we?? What are all those integrations and differentiations for?? Hahaha.. Actuarial Science peeps... =p

We sat around and listen to some live performance on the stage as well. A couple was singing. Victor even went up the stage to sing, too bad I went to the mall to shop for a CNY card. Lolz. We chilled till the mall close, not bad huh?

Well, that's all I guess. Now I am waiting for all those camera's pictures. Waiting waiting waiting... lolz... All the best to those who are leaving. So long!! Take care!! Ciaoz...

High School Gathering

haha... I am here... again... lolz...

I really should have blogged this two days ago, but I just didn't have the urge to do so. But like all memories, I worry mine will fade. Therefore I better blog this up first before I forgot about it.

I went for paintball with my group of high school friends. I was the lucky, or maybe unlucky one, because I got hit on the very first shot, right at the mouth. Gosh! It was so bitter. I got into the game later on and it was quite a nice experience. I would jump into another round of paintball any time, especially if someone will sponsor me! =p Too bad I didn't took any pictures, my phone was in the car because we worried that it will go missing.

I went to 1 Utama as well. I went there to settle my phone's headphones. The Chinese New Year decorations are up and it looks very nice.

It is nice, isn't it? =)

It was nice catching up with all my high school friends, each of them having their own story to tell. Too bad the organizer FFK!! lolz...

Ok, I guess that's all for today. Signing out... zzz
