A walk in KL

I planned to take the train in KL, where the last train was said to be at 12am. But, when we reached there at 11.50pm, it was already closed. Same old Malaysia, never stick to their plans, causing trouble to everyone!! Anyway, we ended up walking.

Sad to say, there ain't a good feeling walking in KL late at night. Yes, I was a little paranoid, very very aware of my surroundings and our safety. We kept to the main roads which are well lighted by street lamps, but the fear still remains in me. Every motorbike went by us is like a threat to me, and nerves in me made me ready to pounce on anyone to make sure we are safe!

Why? Why is my very own country making me feel so unsafe? In fact, I feel so much safer at Des Moines, Iowa, USA!! A foreign country is giving me the security instead of my very own country!! Why can't Malaysia improve? They say there will be no more bribery, they say there is 1 Malaysia, but I don't see any of these situation improving!! It's been 2 years since I step foot on Malaysia and no improvements have been made! This is so disappointing.

It's the same with government workers speaking English. 2 years went by and yet there are no improvement with them dealing in English. Yet the government change its English policy in high school back to BM. Outrageous! How can the country improve when the very basic thing is not met?! Sigh...

This is saddening. This is disappointing. Why why??

Craziness...

What a week I must say! First, I have three tests. Next, all three tests is on the same day!

That was really crazy. Having three tough test on the same day is really mind sapping. I think I did OK for the tests, but I can tell you that I definitely never score any one of it. Yes, very very sure that I did NOT score any one. =(

I went jogging after all the tests. Sadly, all the energy is gone. My usual 3 mile jog became 2 mile. Luckily the pace the did not drop. =D

Today is also Poker Night at Drake. Yes, I am in the Poker Club, and I am leading the score board. We play on a point basis system. Though I lead the score, I have yet to win one Night. =( Second and third seem to haunt me, prevent me from getting first. Tonight, I lose yet again, this time not even at the final table. =( I thought I had it, an Ace spade flush. My hand, Ace Queen spades. Man, how good can it get? Yet I lost. I lost to pocket Aces. There was an Ace on the table, and a pair of fives. Gosh, that's an Ace house! What a hand. =( Well, next week then, there's always next week. Next week, number 1 will be mine. ><

Alright, now time for some relaxation time. A bit of PS2 and then I will sleep tight before another day of work tomorrow. Adioz...

Oh Crap!

Finally I have sat for my first ever professional paper, the first step to embark on a journey, to set sail my career. Unfortunately, it was way tougher than I have expected. I don't think anyone expect it to be this tough as well. Anyway, there's no turning back, so let's just wait for the result and see how it goes from there.

The word busy seems to hang on me these days! I guess that explains my absence here. I am supposed to study for my finance test tomorrow, yes yes, the day right after my professional paper, how unfortunate. Still, I am too drained out and lazy to study for it now, that's why I am here ranting.

You think one test is not enough? Add my IS44 assignment due tomorrow to the equation! Gosh! I really should start on all those procrastinated work! But but, can't I just relax a little after draining my brain juice?

Fall is here, and I have yet to take any pictures of mother nature's beauty. Yes, blame it on the paper and the work. Sigh.

Alright, time to rest and replenish my brain juice now. Ciaoz...

A Malaysian perspective of food

Someone asked me this: "How come you never update your blog?" Did my previous post lapse that long? I wonder. Anyway, succumb to pressure you can say, I decided to post something today.

As Malaysians, we cannot, I repeat, can NOT, live without food. I must say, Malaysians generally live to eat. The food we can get in Malaysia is quite unique. Don't believe me? Tell me, where else on Earth can you get food like asam laksa, nasi lemak, roti canai, curry mee, or even maggi mee? Well, you may get maggi mee some where else other than Malaysia, but it does not taste the same as the one in Malaysia. Roti canai is unique to Malaysians, because India only have capati, not roti canai. =)

Why am I suddenly talking about food? Well, the answer is clear. I don't fancy the food here. It is either too bland or too salty. Yes, it is that bad after having 20 years of great food, what more, Malaysian food! The closest food we can get to Malaysian food is the fried rice here, which still taste quite a distance off from the fried rice we get in Malaysia.

The food here are quite easy to prepare. Everything here is either throw into the pan together or wrap it all up together. Okay, maybe the pasta is different. Guess what, I can count how many good meals I have had here in US! First is the pasta, which wasn't that bad. Then there is the roast pork on gravy, which I personally think that it was very nice. Another one is when I went off campus to a Mexican restaurant. This is the best meal I have had by far, and the most satisfying. Thanks to Grace who brought us there. =)

So, if you are in Malaysia and in the process of transferring to US, remember to enjoy and treasure Malaysian food to the best you can! Yes, I must admit, I miss Malaysian food very much, very very much. Anyone kind enough to courier over some for me? =p

Disclaimer: the title only stands for me as a Malaysian, not every Malaysian. =)

Neighbors, a pain in the arse or a helping hand in bad times?

There's one thing about living in a terrace house which defines heaven or hell -- neighbors. Sometimes, you get a taste of both heaven and hell!! Lolz.

Well, unfortunately for me, I've got a taste of both.

At first it was heaven. Everytime we happen to meet anyone of their family in the front yard, we greet each other, occasionaly stop what we were doing just for a light hearted chat. Whenever they have kenduri, we were invited. Of course, my mum doesn't want to organize any party herself due to the tedious work, therefore we never invite them to any party at our house. =p Sharing stuffs and some times cooking a little extra for each other was nice.

But, after a few years, things start to take a down turn. Sharing of food gradually vanish; chats become lesser; even greetings were limited! Well, not that we don't want to greet them, just that whenever we greet them, we get a cold stare. Therefore, ignorance is best at times. It was then that all the negative traits of this neighbor start to show.

No more helping hand at taking in the clothes whenever rain comes; very limited greetings; they even send an anonymous letter to my opposite neighbor claiming that they were too noisy with the piano! (well, my opposite neighbor asked around who send the letter and they indirectly admit it was them.)

The worst of all was the offensive odor they were sending out. I don't actually know what they cook, but whenever they start to fry things, the stench is unbearable! Even my other neighbor couldn't stand it! (I am not alone, you see. =p)

Besides the cooking, both the father and son smoke ciggarettes like a chimney during winter. Therefore, we as a victim, could only enclose ourselves in our house to avoid inhaling second hand smoke.

There are a thousand more negative images for them, but I guess it's not worth ranting it out here. Fortunately for me, I am leaving this house in 11 days, to a foreign land where I shall make home for at least two years. Looks like this neighborhood image is tainted by a single bad apple. I wonder what will happen when I leave. Sigh.

LOST! DISCONNECTED!!

It happened to me!! Gawd!!! I have read about this in a few other blogs, always thinking how pitiful they are when it hit them, and now it hit me!! Crapz. I feel so lost now; so disconnected. =( What happen you ask?

MY BABY DIED ON ME. AND MY BABY IS MY N70. MY PHONE!!

Goddamn it. Why why?? Now I have to use the old old dinosaur age phone, which can't even read my sim card contacts! That's why I feel so lost and disconnected! I lost every single one of my contacts!! I saved all of it in my sim card, mind you, its a 3G sim card which can store 1000 contacts, and now I lost the whole bunch of it!! OMG!!! Bloody dino age phone, too old till 3G card can't read? Sobs.

Sending my baby to repair tomorrow, in 1U. Yeah, I bought it in 1U, so now go back there because its hospital is there. I'm going to watch a movie, or maybe do some shopping if I don't watch movie. AUP ball coming up, and I am kinda sick with the same old shirt. I might just end up getting a new shirt, maybe even a new neck tie. Good idea? Not sure yet, see how it goes tomorrow.

Now all I care most is my baby. I want it back!! =( I really hope it can be repaired, and hopefully repaired by tomorrow! =( *pray pray* Did my baby crash on me because I am leaving the country soon?? That's what my cousin brother said!! LOL. Miss me already baby? Hahaha... Anyway, suffer tonight more. Hope things will go well tomorrow. I don't mind changing, eh, should be upgrading, my baby to N93i or N95. Heheh

Girls, love or hate? Or love AND hate?

Well, I don't know it is just me or not, but I seem to notice more and more female smokers lately. And, AND, most of them are actually quite pretty! OMG!!

I just can't understand it! Why do they have to smoke? I bet they do know that it shortens their life, yet they still light up and puff like a chimney in winter. Sigh.

Back to the point that they are actually quite pretty. Yes, I must admit that they are pretty, but yet they are not pretty enough to the point where smoking is permitted to me. To me, except that you are so pretty till your face start appearing in billboards and magazine cover, something like America's Next Top Model, then I would understand why you smoke. It is due to the stress posed to you. Some may say that smoking does not ease the stress, but to me, that pretty face might just be enough to erase the fact that you smoke. =p

Too bad, I have not seen (face to face) any girl here in Malaysia that is so so captivating; so so pretty till she can be the next top model. Blame me that I don't visit clubs and bars, but that will be stereotyping all models and local celebrities as people who frequent these places, won't it be?

Anyway, it isn't for me to judge them, is it? It's their own life, and they themselves will suffer or enjoy it, therefore it does not matter to me that much, does it? Unless she is my girlfriend/wife then it will be a different case, wouldn't it? If only we can order our partner like how we choose to custom make a car or shoe or whatever.

*dreams* I would love to have a... long haired, captivating eyes, cheeks that is similiar to those few lucky friends of mine (no need to maintain yet no pimples whatsoever!!), probably with dimples? Someone who is confident with her body, you know, don't always complain that she's fat or whatsoever. Someone who knows how to dress appropriately (according to occasion that is), etc etc... *slap*

Oops!! I wonder too much didn't I? Sorry! Gosh!! I sound so... perverted! So... evil! I don't mean to, and I don't want to! I think everyone might just love the idea or choosing or customizing their partner like what they do for cars or house or whatever, am I not right? I do treat girls (and guys of course!) with utmost respect. Trust me, I don't treat girls like they are just another asset or anything. Girls are wonderful, aren't they? Without them, I wouldn't be here crapping! =p Yeah man, girls rock! Love them! Hahaha...

Anyway, if this post offend you or anything, do tell me. Comment or a message at the side, I might justify my stand, or might as well take this down. Hahahaa... So long, adioz!

Jaime Bergman

I was watching Boa vs Python on Sunday. Well, it's an old show, I know. The story wasn't really great. But what caught my attention is, well, none other than the leading actress. =p Heck, she has such lovely blue eyes and wonderful figure, bla bla bla... I actually finished the whole show just because I want to see her!! Lolz. Pervert!

After the show, I decided to check her out on the internet. You know, maybe get some wallpaper for my old and boring wallpaper which has been there since god knows when!

I was shocked when the search results for images came in. I swear I didn't type anything else than "Jaime Bergman". Pictures of her came in and it surely did fill every man's dream of seeing her bare it all.

She's Playboy Playmate 1999. =.='''

I was a little disappointed. I mean, with her beautiful looks, she surely can do well, if not better, in the entertainment industry, don't you think so? Heck, she can act too!

Well, maybe she has her own reason for posing nude for Playboy. Therefore, let us not think till that complicated and just admire her, non nude of course!

(Oh My) Malaysia

My my! What is wrong with the Malaysian government? First you set a limit for the number of subject in the public examinations for high school (SPM), and then you break it; next you came up with the National Service (NS), and many problems arise with it; then along came the ban on firecrackers, but do you know what is the problem?? Let me tell you.

The outrageous number of 1A, or distinction, a person can get for SPM led to the government to limit the number of subjects a student can take. Well, that is a good move, as these students with an extreme number of 1A does not actually always reflects excellent studies. Think about this, what does it reflect when someone actually take about 5 subjects regarding to religion? The result for SPM is coming out soon, and there is a newspaper report stating that someone is capable, and most likely, to score 19 1A's for it. In that 19 subjects, 5 are religion studies. Does that make sense to you? Well, it does not make sense to me! Besides that, didn't the Ministry of Education set the limit that a student is not allowed to take that many subjects? Don't you think you are going against your own policy? This is what a chinese proverb states, 自相矛盾. Direct translation, self mutual spear shield. In other words, to be self-contradictory. Go check this proverb out at http://www.bingchen.com/content/view/62/66/.

The next issue, National Service (NS). It is a good move for the government to install the NS program in order to promote patriotism. But, with all the problems for it, don't you know how to solve it? For example, this year's NS program, they screw up the transportation. The buses supposed to ferry the students to the camp were in a mess, causing havoc. As a result, they don't provide any more transport for the students. This caused these students to face transportation trouble. If your family is in Peninsular Malaysia and your camp is in Sarawak, you need to fork out your own money for the transportation??! That's unfair! Another issue regarding to NS, too many deaths!! I do not know about other countries, but generally in my mind NS should not cause any deaths! I think the government should either abort the program, or make it applicable to males only. It's not that I am prejudice against females, but I think they should not be forced to join this program. They can volunteer to join, but must be at will and not by the random selection of the government. (Hey, I like females too ok? Lolz) Another thing they must look into is, the discipline of the program. First the head of the camp or the instructors are perverted or indiscipline (some, not all). Then there are some students, especially girls, who tend to flirt with these instructors, causing unwanted troubles such as rape cases or molestation. The punishment against such acts? Well, it is not made clear to the public but I can't help guessing that it is very light punishment. Justice what?

Lastly, the issue of fire crackers. Chinese New Year was about two weeks ago, and just this previous Sunday was the 15th of the lunar calendar, signifying the last day of Chinese New Year. But, unfortunately enough, this year's CNY was exceptionally quiet. The government came up with the ban on fire crackers. Heck, it is only the chinese, or rather only during CNY, that fire crackers come together with the celebrations. Stick to the origin, does Hari Raya celebrations come with fire crackers? Or does Deepavali celebrates together with fire crackers? They have NO reason to ban fire crackers. The reason why CNY is celebrated with fire crackers is because they want so scare of the monster that comes during CNY. Yes, I do agree that that is a traditional view point, but does that signify a point to ban the playing of fire crackers? Besides that, most chinese BUY fire crackers, and not make it themselves. C'mon, tell me who are those who get injured with self-made fire crackers? With this unusually quiet CNY over, many articles about it surfaced, especially in newspaper columns. I seriously think that the government should allow fire crackers during CNY. It may sound unfair to other religion if fire cracker is to be allowed only during CNY, but what's the point of them playing fire crackers during their religious celebrations?

Well, I am still living in this country. Therefore you may say I am blind towards the beauty of this country. But then again, if my country has these problems, do you think I, who lived here before leaving to another country, can let go of these thoughts behind my head? I haven't experience living in another country yet, but I seriously doubt so. Serious matter like these do actually tarnish our country's name. Yet there are other issues about negative matter arising recently, most of which I do not have any right to say about it. Why? Mostly because I do not want to get involved in any insulting comments. Bribe me anyone? Sigh...
